alright already
he's dead. he was an idiot.
left behind a daughter.
get over it already.
borkback wasn't even a good movie.
it did no justice to the gay rights movement.

Pretty insensitive there, Omar -- bordering on odious. He hasn't even been dead for 24 hours. Of course people are talking about it a lot. Sorry you didn't like the kid's movie.

Seconded.

Crippling depression and oppressive insomnia /= an idiot.

well, i'd like to see some real news on the interwebs.
if he was depressed or whatever, get some therapy and support, not a freaking back rub. i just don't care about all this attention.

It's attention because he was famous.
That's what famous people get. That and horrible rumors and comments that we'd never say to somebody we know.

Saying "get help" is rarely enough.

And there's real news, you just gotta get it yourself.

I didn't see Brokeback Mountain. Gay people don't need anyone's help with their "movement".

He was in some cool parts man: See his performance in Monster's Ball.

I don't watch heterosexual films. They don't need help with their "majority."

Also, Brokeback was written by an old straight woman, for heavens sake, and the film was directed and written by a straight man. And starred straight men.

I think my comment is being misunderstood here.

I actually didn't see brokeback moutain (yet?) so I have no comment to make on it.

In reference the the posted comment about the deceased, I felt the gay community doesn't need to absorb Heath Ledger as an icon.

I was hoping not to trivialize Ledgers death...I suppose that wasn't clear.

Plus, I don't think Hollywood produces heterosexual films any more. Too dangerous. Though you may find them on obscure internet 'websites'.

I thought Ang Lee was a man. *crying*

HA! Well said. I respectfully withdraw my pithy pissy comments.

And Ang Lee IS a man.

Annie Proulx isn't. :)

I think we both need to take a LJ Commenting correction course and when we graduate, we can go do some hate crimes.

You're right though, the hetero majority doesn't need any help. After all, we have Ted Nugent.

That movie wasn't about gay rights. It was about "love." Wonderful, complicated, distorted love.

that movie was about two horny guys. ledger's character was lonely and depressed while jake's character was a complete horndog, going to mexico to get some. i saw nothing. NOTHING. loving about that film. they tore apart their families and the women they were with because they wouldn't be honest. and ppl sucked it down and thought it was beautiful.

ledger is gonna suck as the new joker.

boy those dark knight trailers are boring.

o.i.r.

I like the trailers. I'm a bit torn right now. Some shots look great of The Joker...others...bad lighting.

I said DISTORTED. They tore their families apart for love. It was gut wrenching. Del Mar was truly in love. Jake's character was seedy.

REPUBLICAN. ;P
